Uganda DanceSport Federation to take four Athletes to the 2023 WDSF World Breaking Championship in Leuven – Belgium, come 23rd September.
The 2023 WDSF World Breaking Championships also to act as 2024 Paris Olympics Qualifiers for the Dancers that will participate in the competitions.
Only the Gold and Silver Medalists of National Breaking For Gold Championship that took place on 3rd September 2023 at Lido Beach Entebbe.
This time they will be 2 male Dancers and 2 female Dancer to represent Uganda at DanceSport world stage extravaganza.
Luleti Farouk (Bboy School Boy) from Kampala- Kitintale who won Gold medal at National Breaking For Gold Championships will be teamed with his fellow Dancer Brian Adams (Bboy Tiger) the Silver Medalists to look for Gold at the World stage on men’s category.
On the other hand, Kawala Sophia (Bgirl Sophie) who won Gold from Kampala – Kawaala and Magezi Miracle (Bgirl Micco) who scooped silver will represent the nation on Women’s side.
For Kawala Sophia who is yet to make the 16 years of age and per Olympics regulations, Head Coach for Uganda DanceSport Cranes Edwin Sserwanyi clarified her case.
” Kawala Sophia (Bgirl Sophie) it’s true she’s not yet 16 as rules say but she will be making the age come next year in March and now she’s legible to compete in the competitions because by 2024 Olympics if she qualifies she will be 16years Old”
Uganda DanceSport Federation is looking forward to be among the federations that will send athletes in Paris Olympics if all goes well with DanceSport Cranes team that is going to participate in qualifiers in Belgium this September.
The team is starting it’s residential training next week and expected to fly to Leuven – Belgium, by 20th September.
