Luleti Farouk a.k.a Bboy SkoolBoy and Kawala Sophia a.k.a Bgirl Sophie emarged Victorious at The Uganda DanceSport Federation National Breaking for Gold Championships 2023, that took place at Lido Beach, Entebbe on 3rd September.Athletes (Dancers) from Gulu, Masaka, Jinja, Mbarara, Kaseese, Fort portal, Kampala and other districts took part in 2023 Uganda DanceSport Federation National Breaking for Gold Championships.There was 32 Dancers, 16 Men and 16 Ladies that competed from Round of 16 pitted in four groups each group with 4 Dancers competing in round robin format.Gulu District was represented very well with 3 athletes 2 male Dancers and Onefemale Dancer in Oonyu Julius, Brian Adams and Sadat Khan respectively.French embassy representatives attended the event. MRS Norah Njuba Bwaya a Board Trustees Member of Uganda DanceSport Federation was also in attendance and handed meddles to the top 3 athletes.Luleti Farouk (Bboy School Boy) won Brian Adams (Bboy Tiger) in finals to take Gold home and later won Silver. On the female side Dancers Kawala Sophia (Bgirl Sophie) Won Gold after beating Magezi Miracle (Bgirl Micco).Uganda DanceSport Federation general secretary Barnabas Ssebuyungo in a press briefing revealed that the event was indeed a success.“We have been able to get the 4 maleDancers and 2 female Dancer that are going to represent Uganda DanceSport in Belgium later this month” Barnabas Ssebuyungo said.Today we brought DanceSport to Lido Beach Entebbe to new audience and be it that DanceSport is an urban sports we want to take the sport into different areas and that shows how we have grown as a sport” Ssebuyungo added.Uganda National Breaking for Gold
